Recovery at home (Castration and Scrotectomy)

From EunuchWiki

Dr Aguilar is the chief surgeon at the Mexico Transgender Centre (https://mexicotransgendercenter.us/); Dr Rebolloso is also a surgeon there also (https://www.doctoralia.com.mx/miguel-omar-rebolloso-castro/medico-general/tijuana).

Healing Timeline

After 3 weeks, Dr Aguilar said that it should be possible to have some kind of sex.

After 4 weeks, Dr Rebolloso says that you can return to gym but should only use the elliptical trainer (no impact), and to take care when stretching and really listen to your body: do not over stretch!

After 6 weeks, Dr Rebolloso said that you might look to remove any uncomfortable knot, use some Neosporin in the irritated area if necessary.

The doctor also recommended silicon strips to help protect the scar; something like this:

After 8 weeks, Dr Rebolloso says that one can do light weights and can start running again. He also mentioned that after 8 weeks you might also try cycling, however it may not feel very comfortable at first (wearing padded cycling shorts helps, but not completely).

Additional Notes on Recovery

Groin aches have been experienced by a few people in contact with this site. The cord ends will slide about better when they are healed and the inflammation has gone down. Initially they will be swollen and shaped like hammers jammed into narrower pipes. When they have recovered fully, they will be like rat tails. You can expect to feel anything from nothing at all to a mild ache to “it hurts like hell”, then it gets better.

Dissolvable Stitches

The moisture of your interstitial fluid breaks it down under the skin then it is absorbed by your body and the outside parts of the stitches just fall out.

For me (James), the stitches had almost all disappeared by the end of week seven. Some of them I was able to gently pull out. There were tiny spots of blood whenever a stitch fell out. I could tease the loser ones out at week seven also. I didn’t need to take scissors to them.
